Reed may not practice this week nor play in Baltimore’s Week 12 game against the Chargers. He will be reinstated on Monday, Nov. 26.
On Sunday night, Reed was penalized for unnecessary roughness for his hit on Steelers WR Emmanuel Sanders in the head and neck area. It was Reed’s third violation of such rules in the past three seasons.
In Week Three, Reed was penalized for unnecessary roughness and fined $21,000 for his hit on Patriots WR Deion Branch. On Dec. 19, 2010, he was penalized for roughing the passer and fiend $10,000 for his hit on Saints QB Drew Brees in the head and neck area.Cleveland Cavaliers Snapback Hats
“We cannot tolerate repeated violations of rules, especially rules related to player safety,” said NFL executive vice president of football operations Ray Anderson in the league’s press release. “We will continue to take the strongest possible action to deter these types of violations and protect our players.”
Reed can appeal the suspension within three business days. Appeals are heard by either Art Shell or Ted Cottrell. Ravens head coach Joh Harbaugh said Reed will appeal and the team expects to hear a decision by Wednesday.
In 10 games this season, all starts, Reed has 40 tackles, 10 passes defensed and three interceptions.Milwaukee Bucks Snapback Hats
